Caidreamh na h-Òigridh | Youth Gaelic Weekend
March 28 – 30, 2025
Join us for Caidreamh na h-Òigridh, our Youth Immersion Weekend in March. This weekend is open to ages 8 – 18, and offers two levels, beginner to intermediate. No prior experience necessary to attend. The sessions are taught using an immersion-based teaching methodology that was developed in Nova Scotia called Gàidhlig aig Baile (Gaelic in the home). Instructors usually provide an orientation in English for those who are not familiar with the methodology. Immersion is achieved through repetition, gestures, props, visual aids, games, and activities, creating a fun and engaging learning environment. The aim of the weekend is to inspire and support young Gaelic learners, connect and fosters friendships, and to introduce new students to Gaelic learning opportunities available to them in their communities.
Beginner is appropriate for new beginners and students who have some basic experience with Gaelic already. No prior experience necessary.
Intermediate is appropriate for past students who have a lot of experience and a good foundation in the language.
