Jennifer Beaton grew up watching and helping her mother weave, knit, spin and do what could be done with fiber. She is mostly self taught but has attended a few weaving workshops. She enjoys trying many different weaving techniques and has mostly woven household items for her own use: rugs, towels, clothing, linens. She is an experienced spinner and lace knitter as well. Jenni usually does most of her weaving in fall and winter months after gardening and preserving is finished. In spring, she fishes lobster with her husband and helps with boat and gear maintenance in the summer. Jenni’s weaving and other fiber works are found at the ‘Fiber Festival’ during Celtic Colours in Baddeck and at her shop (Jenni’s Threads) that is open during Advent season.
