Bonnie Jean is originally from Sydney Mines and now lives in Cole Harbour. A former student of Jean MacNeil, she began lessons at a young age and has performed and taught throughout the Maritimes, eastern US and Scotland. Bonnie Jean was a long time student at the Gaelic College, and taught step dance here throughout the 90s and beyond. She is also a former member of the Gaelic College and the Dartmouth and District Pipe Bands.
