As it was in the Glen – with CD
As it was in The Glen is written in both Gaelic and English and includes a CD as well.
“Gaelic singer Rod MacNeil lives at his farm in the secluded Barra Glen, near Iona, Cape Breton. Roddy C. has been collecting songs for many years, focusing on rare songs amd melodies such as those from the Christmas Island composer Hugh MacKenzie. The record is an accomplishment to a (this) new book of Gaelic songs that are descriptive of the community of Roddy C’s youth. The subjects range from the serious to the humorous and describe rare events such as the passing of the famous ‘Hindenburg’ Zeppelin over Grand Narrows, Cape Breton, in 1936.
