Wendy MacIsaac is a fiddler, piano player, and stepdancer from Creignish, Cape Breton who began her career at age four as a stepdancer, and went on to take fiddle lessons from Stan Chapman at age twelve. By 1990, she was well established as one of the top new young fiddler/pianists in Cape Breton and was in great demand for dances and festivals. Wendy has since entertained audiences across Canada, the United States, the UK, Europe and Brazil. She is a founding member of Beòlach, and has also performed with The Cape Breton Summertime Revue, Capercaillie,The Chieftains, Ashley MacIsaac, toured with The Rankin Sisters, and traveled and recorded with Mary Jane Lamond for over fourteen years. Wendy has released three albums: The Reel Thing, That’s What You Get, and Timeline–and has taught step-dancing at festivals and workshops around the world. Most recently, Wendy has teamed up with long time collaborator Mary Jane Lamond to create a true musical partnership which combines their musical sensibilities, their strong Gaelic roots and their personalities.
