Wenda is a graduate of the National Ballet School Teachers’ Program, graduating with distinction in Cecchetti Ballet and Character/National Dance. She is trained in, and has taught ballet, jazz, modern, musical theatre, tap and highland dancing. She assisted at the National Ballet School for four years, and assisted in the children’s modern and creative program at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre for two years.
She is a Member of the SDTA, and on the judges’ panel of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.
As part of a continuing effort to further her understanding of Dance injuries, their causes and their treatment, Wenda studied at, and has graduated with Honors from the Sports Injury Management (athletic therapy, injury assessment and rehabilitation) program at Sheridan College, and is a Registered Massage Therapy. Wenda has received further certification as a yoga teacher and in Critical Alignment Therapy.
Presently, Wenda is working as a Registered Massage Therapist and doing free-lance teaching and choreography. She recently completed the 5th and final year of Osteopathic studies at the Canadian College of Osteopathy. She spends her spare time developing programs for dancers, to improve overall muscle balance, strength/flexibility, and skeletal alignment.
