A resident of North Sydney all her life, Kay has a great history in dance and with the College. She was a member of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dance, a lifetime member of the British Assoc. of Teachers of Dance, ScotDance Nova Scotia and certified in Fitness with SFIC. She has taught highland dance now for 45 years, having had her own Batherson School of Dance. She was also the President of the Northside Highland Dancers’ Association Inc. and Baton Twirling for several years. She presently teaches a Full Fitness Program titled Keltic Dancercise and teaches workshops in New Brunswick at the Landry School of Dance and other areas. Her three daughters attended the Gaelic College and now follow in their mother’s footsteps. They are certified highland dance teachers with Ann Frances Landry, the eldest, a member of the Scottish Official Board Judge’s Panel. Kay is an alumnae of the College and a former member of the Gaelic College MacDonald Hundred Pipe Band. Her grandfather, John C. MacMillan, was one of the College’s founding members.
