Fiddle music of Dan R. MacDonald
In early 1911, John and Janet (Jessie) MacDonald were living at Rear Little Judique, Inverness County in Nova Scotia and were awaiting the birth of their first child. Johnny (the carpenter) as Mr. MacDonald was known, was a popular fiddle player in the area. He provided spirited music for square dances as well as for step dancing or ‘Scotch Fours’.
