Elizabeth MacInnis

Step Dance

Elizabeth hails from West Mabou and while only 20, has long-since enjoyed all aspects of Nova Scotia’s Scottish culture, from music to language and cultural traditions. She began picking up stepdancing in the home from her mother Mary Elizabeth at age 6, later also learning from teacher Mary Janet MacDonald. The fiddle would soon follow with Elizabeth being mostly self-taught but largely influenced from her famed grandfather, the late Buddy MacMaster. She is often seen performing with both her mother and sisters in events around the island, and is back teaching with us again at the College.
