Ed MacDonell
Gaelic Language
Ed MacDonell has a great interest in the story of Gaelic Nova Scotia. An early appetite to learn more about the language and culture of his ancestors led Ed to St. Francis Xavier University and a degree in Celtic Studies. Support from St.F.X. during this period allowed him to travel to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye to participate in their summer Short-Course program. In more recent years, Ed has had the privilege of being involved in Gaelic-related community projects and has operated in various roles including Gaelic Animator at Highland Village Museum, Project Manager with the Gaelic Song Education Project at Cape Breton University, and Instructor with Colaisde na Gàidhlig. In addition to Gaelic, Ed has a background in agricultural research.
