Clothing & Personal Items

The following personal items are required: Shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. Students in Session 1A and 1B are also required to bring their sleeping bags, pillowcases, towels and facecloths. The College provides pillows.

All students should bring sturdy footwear and rainwear. A warm sweater and jacket are also recommended because the evenings can become quite cool.

Dress Code:
We only have a couple of areas that specifically call for a particular dress code. Piping and Drumming students (does not apply to chanter and drum pad students) are required to wear kilts and proper band attire for pipe band practices. Step dance students are required to wear hard-soled shoes for classes – no taps.

We also expect students to be fully dressed for all meals – no bare feet and no pajamas. We strongly discourage the wearing of cut-offs, short shorts, halter-tops, low cut tank tops and mini-skirts.

We always encourage and welcome kilts and other highland dress but realize that this is not always practical. Some kilts are available from our craft shop to students who require them on a “first-come/first-serve” basis. Regular casual dress is quite appropriate.
