The Gaelic College Foundation was proud to present our 1st Annual Kilted Golf Tournament. The event took place on August 12, 2011 at the award-winning Bell Bay Golf Course, located in beautiful Baddeck, Nova Scotia.
The Gaelic College was founded in 1938 as a school devoted to the study and preservation of the Gaelic language, arts and culture. Students of all ages and abilities from around the world are attending the College every year. All proceeds from this annual event will go toward our 75th anniversary celebration coming in the Summer 2013.
In the Scottish Highlands, the kilt would be the main garment worn by nearly all who lived there before immigrating to North America. Today, it has grown into a fashion statement worn in weddings and during highland games. We would like to add a new celebratory event and another reason to wear the Great Highland Kilt. The Bell Bay Golf Course was invaded with kilted golfers who found out day to day activities, let alone golf is not as easy as it looks.
We would like to thank all our sponsors, players, and donors for all your greatly appreciated hard work!! This will be the start of a tradition that, we hope, lasts to see the 150th anniversary of the Gaelic College!!!
