The Gaelic College Craft Shop is owned and operated by the Gaelic College of Celtic Arts and Crafts, a non-profit organization. All proceeds from the Craft Shop go to the college, and help promote and preserve the Gaelic culture.
Our shop specializes in Scottish imports, tartans (over 150 in stock), books, videos and supplies for all disciplines that are taught at the College. You could expect to find anything from harp strings to Ghillie laces and from Scottish tartans to fiddles and tin whistles.
Following is a brief description of some of the products available at the Gaelic College Craft Shop:
Gaelic Books, Music Books, and CD's
For Gaelic College students, books, music, tapes and dictionaries are available along with Catriona Parsons' GÀIDHLIG TROIMH CHÒMHRADH ("Gaelic Through Conversation") a textbook series comprised of three volumes, each accompanied by three or four CDs. This text is most suitable for high school, college, or mature students wishing to learn the Gaelic language and is a must for anyone enrolled in a Celtic Studies program. "Gaelic Through Conversation" is available as individual volumes ($41.95 each) or as a set of three volumes ($119.95).
CDs : We feature a wide variety of local traditional and contemporary artists. The Gaelic College Pipe Band's (1994 Grade III World Champions) CD "Revelations" is among the many offerings.
Jewellry:
Clan crest cap badges and kilt pins are among the many items bearing clan crests and tartans. We also feature many Celtic knot pieces in rings, necklaces and pendants.
The Sewing Shop:
Our kiltmaker custom makes clothing and also provides the shop with highland attire such as kilts, kilted skirts, dancing kilts, shawls, scarves, sashes, ties, tams, stoles, cummerbunds and vests in any of the tartans.
Souvenirs:
Tartan souvenirs such as book marks, and scrunchies supplement a great selection of caps, t-shirts, jackets, sweaters, books, calendars, pottery and other gift items. A great place to browse.
